Thanks SP!

Thanks Miss Secret Pal! I got your wonderful little gift yesterday. It was sitting on my doorstep waiting for me to come home. Thats the best part of doing this whole SP swap... to have unexpected packages arriving at your door! Not to mention "meeting" someone new and getting fun gifts! So what was inside, you ask? Well, there were four vanilla and lavender scented candles, and a couple candle holders (although one got smashed somewhere along the way... pooh), some butterfly notecards, post-its in the shape of an M, and a skein of beautiful ribbon yarn in dark purple and blue hues. Its gorgeous... I wish I had more of it! I think it will make a nice drop-stitch scarf. Thanks!!!

Last night, I also finished Tivoli!! I knew I had to finish it before the Knitting Olympics started today (OMG is it today already??) It fits perfectly, and although it is rolling a little bit around the neckline, it almost looks like its supposed to do that. But I think I will iron it out a bit more. I used Knitpicks Shine in cream and size four needles. It really is a nice design!
So in an hour and ten minutes, I will be casting on for the Knitting Olympics. I've swatched and I've got my needles ready! Good luck fellow Olympians!

Beginnings

Hello everyone! It seems like I have had a lot of people visiting lately! Thanks for all the comments!
I hope everyone is having a good new year so far. For me, I have been very busy with school all of a sudden. This is the first trimester that I have taken 19 credits (!), and I'm not used to it. It should at least keep me busy. I finally feel like I am getting somewhere. I don't have so much of a feeling like I will never graduate. In less than a year, I will be an intern, and I will have my own patients! For those of you who don't know, I am going to school to become an acupuncturist at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. Its very exciting... I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Also, I have started the South Beach Diet. I'm only on day two, and it had been a little difficult, but really not that hard to follow. For the first couple weeks, you eat mainly veggies, low fat cheese, nuts, and protein like eggs, fish and chicken. No fruit, though. That has actually been the hardest part, if you can believe it. I am trying to approach it like a science experiment instead of a "diet" to see if it really works, and so that I can recommend it to my future patients.
In knitting news, I have been working on the Sexy Knitter's Club KAL project, Picovoli. You can see pics and read all about it here at the Sexy Knitters Club. Its coming along rather nicely!

Knitty!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... I Knitty!! So many great things to knit and sooo little time and money to knit them! I must knit Tempting II. Not only is it a great nomination for the SKC next go 'round, but its knit in Clamer! A perfect excuse to go to the LYS and buy a bunch of Rowan! (Like I need one.) I also love Festive, Tubey, Best Friend, and Knecklace.
Speaking of the SKC (Sexy Kniter's Club), the voting is almost over for the first KAL. Unless a bunch of people vote for Orangina or Deciduous, it looks like it will be Picovoli. I'm not that crazy about the pattern cuz its a bit plain, but in the reader's gallery some gals have added a little lace pattern at the bottom, which is a great idea that I will be copying. I can't wait to get all these christmas presents out of the way so I can knit something for myself for a change! (BTW, I would show you some knitting, but I'm working on a couple things for people who read this blog... that would be you, cuteface.)

Sexy Knitters

Psst... there's this club, and its for sexy gals who knit! If you haven't done it yet, you must join the Sexy Knitters Club. The only initiation is voting for a sexy pattern for a KAL (knit a long). I'm rooting for Bella Paquita. There's even Sexy Knitter's Club (SKC) t-shirts for sale. I must get myself one of those, as soon as I get some money!
