I can't believe its June already! How did that happen?? Well, no matter how it crept up on me, June means the color of the month is blue. Blue has always been one of my favorite colors (a close second to purple, of course), and I especially love a pretty deep royal blue, which is also the color of my birthstone- sapphire. When I picked out the color for my VK Tiered skirt, I didn't plan to make it blue for Project Spectrum... it just kinda happened that way.
I have only gotten about 15 rounds done so far, but I love the way the yarn knits up:
The yarn is elann.com's Endless Summer Luna. If you look real close, you can see I'm even using a blue stitchmarker!

Another project I want to start on is this Psychadelic squares afghan that I found via Craftster.org. I think I'd like to keep all the yarn of the same type instead of using leftovers... but we'll see. It would be a great stashbusting project.

My garden is finally growing some strawberries! Just yesterday this one was mostly green. I think I might have to go back to home depot and get some more to plant. The other plants in my garden are doing really well, too. I'm hoping I'll have tomatoes by June. Is that overly optimistic?? I haven't grown tomatoes in a long time so I forget how long it takes.

This is a pic of my boy Little Man enjoying his time outside in the grass. Him and his sister have been mostly indoor cats, but we have been letting them outside a little at a time the past few months. Where we live is good for that, it is a bunch of cottages in a U formation, and lots of grass around for the "kids" to run around in. There's a lot of other cats around for them to hang out with, too. But now they are spoiled and want to go out all the time, but I don't feel confident enough yet to let then outside unsupervised. Maybe I'm just being a paranoid mom, but my neighbor's cat had to be put to sleep a few months ago because this other cat beat him up. I'd rather be paranoid than have a huge vet bill or a dead cat. That would SUCK.

I got my Luna in the mail on Friday for my VK skirt. It came in just a few days, which is always nice! Its not quite what I expected from the picture on the website, but I think it will make a nice skirt.

Since I like to join in things just for the sake of doing stuff that everyone else is doing, I joined Project Spectrum... the new button in the sidebar there -->
So there's this meme going around if you are part of Project Spectrum to take pics of everything pink and red in your house... the colors for March:

And of course, I have pink and red yarn. For my Project Spectrum item, I think I might make something using these yarns. Not sure what, though. They are acrylic, so not clothing or a scarf... maybe a bag?? We'll see....
