I found this on Stacey's blog, and I just HAD to do it...
Do a Wikipedia Search of your birthdate, minus the year. Then list three interesting events, three people who were born, and three people who died on that day. Mine is September 19th:

Three Events
1. 1692- Giles Corey is pressed to death after refusing to plead in the Salem Witch Trials
2. 1957- First U.S. undergound nuclear bomb test
3. 1994- The pilot episode of the medical drama ER airs on NBC
Three Births
1. 1909- Ferry Porsche- Austrian automobile pioneer- perhaps this explains why I love Porsches so much?
2. 1928- Adam West, actor- better known as the original Batman
3. 1974- Jimmy Fallon, actor

Three Deaths
1. 1692 - Giles Cory, American farmer killed in the Salem Witch Trials
2. 1942 - Condé Nast, American publisher- responsible for such publications as Vogue, Vanity Fair and Glamour
3. 2004 - Ellis Marsalis, Sr., American businessman, musician, and activist

And I bet you didn't know that September 19th is Talk Like a Pirate Day! Yarrrh!

First of all... a warning to everyone: Mercury is in retrograde again until the 20th. So, if you just had a horrible fight with someone, or are having doubts about your life path, don't make any rash decisions yet!!
Secondly, I got tagged by Melissa of Lissa's Long Yarn for 20 things about me. I actually have a list of 100 things about me in my 'about me' section, but I'll do this again just for the hell of it:
1. I have a live-in boyfriend and two cats
2. Neither of us want kids... ever
3. I am going to grad school to get my master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (aka acupuncture)
4. I have one younger brother, who is 28
5. I just turned 30 in September
6. I have been a knitter for a year and 2 months
7. I wanted to be a vet all my life until I graduated from college
8. 75% of my heritage is Finnish, 25% is English
9. My favorite color is purple... like plum
10. My least favorite color is pink... like bubblegum
11. My parents are divorced; my mother remarried, and my dad has a girlfriend
12. My vices are wine, brie and coffee
13. I used to collect shot glasses, but not anymore cuz I have nowhere to put them all!
14. I live in a cottage style house a block from the ocean in San Diego
15. I moved to San diego from Boston for the weather
16. I miss Boston
17. My favorite tv shows right now are Lost and Nip/Tuck
18. I have never broken any bones
19. The only foreign countries i have been to are England, Canada, and Mexico
20. I have never knit a pair of socks
So there you go! Now who should I tag?? How about Lily (cuz I haven't heard from her in a while), Joi (my last secret pal), and Sarah.

Well, its good to know that my SP has not forgotten about me, and is in fact sending me something very soon! Yay! I feel bad that I was even worried about it at all. I've just heard a few bad stories about others being matched up with pals who they never get a postcard from. I do think that it is more fun to actually send the presents out to my pal that I am spoiling! I will have to send her the second package soon!!
So here is a little meme that I've seen around on various blogs lately... go to Google and put in your name followed by "needs"... so here's what "Melissa needs"...
Melissa needs a ride and smitten conversation
Melissa Needs Maintenance Manuals!
Melissa needs to select information from the Partners table.
Melissa needs blood will you help me?
Melissa needs to board the blob ship that is hovering overhead
Melissa needs her meds, and I'm sure Mikey won't get them for her.
Ms. Buck says Melissa needs attention and will do “things” for attention.
Melissa needs computer assistance!!
I don't think Mikey and Ms, Buck are working on my side. You can also put "melissa" in a Google images search, and this is what you get: Yep, that's my body. And this: must have been a Melissa convention.

I was making it too big, and it looked kinda funny, so I ripped it up and started from scratch. Waah. I decided to make a scarf for my brother instead, with the same intarsia patern. The only thing is that cuz its intarsia, the wrong side will show on the scarf. I've tried to make it as neat as possible, but is that really lame to have that showing? click on the pic to enlarge it I'm not even sure if I'm really doing the intarsia right.
